Our Story
Why Heron exists
We play, and like anyone who plays we have spent the last couple of years watching the professional game change its mind about putters.
First the blades went. In 2020, twenty of the fifty best putters on the PGA Tour still used one. Going into 2026, nobody in the men's world top ten does, and mallets are now over three quarters of the field.
Then the mallets themselves changed. Zero torque designs went from a curiosity to something every major brand makes, and in June 2025 J.J. Spaun won the US Open at Oakmont with one. The best players in the world had quietly agreed on something.
That is hard to ignore. It is also hard to act on. The moment we looked at what it would cost to try the technology, the answer was three hundred pounds. Four hundred pounds. For an aluminium head and a shaft.
The technology is real and it works. The price is not a manufacturing decision, it is a brand decision. Tour budgets, retail margins and markup, and you are the one paying for all three.
So we had one built to our own spec, and we sell it without the tour markup, for ninety nine pounds.
The heron
A heron stands completely still, perfectly balanced, holds its line, and then strikes with total precision.
That is a zero torque putter described in one sentence. It is where the name came from.
One putter, made properly, at a price that makes sense.
